Theme of Bugs

There was a clump of hair near the top of the toilet bowl. Don’t ask me how it got there, these things just happen when two people have long hair in one bathroom, but it looked like a bug when I sat down. So I spent my pee-time wondering if my pee was disturbing the bug, or if maybe toilet-bowl-lurking bugs aren’t really bothered by that sort of thing. It was quite a step down from the History of England volume III (from Utrecht to Modern Times), complete with snooty footnotes explaining why Sam Adams was silly, which is my current bathroom book.

And on the theme of bugs, there was one in the library today with fluorescent green eyes. There was a pink spot between the eyes, bright pink, but that was not so important as the fact that the eyes were fluorescent green. And they say libraries are supposed to be free of distraction! Pah.

And on the theme of things I think that I think are normal thoughts until I actually share them with someone, I am frequently distracted by visions of my body crashing into pavement. Like if I take a set of stairs too fast, I’ll have a kinaesthetic flash of how it would feel to miss the top step and fly backwards, crushing all the valuable homework and snack food in my backpack and earning a big bruise on my butt. Or I’ll realize that in the universe next door I have just caught my hair on something, twisted in a bad way, and died. I always thought everyone had moments like that; my housemate seems to think I’m a morbid loon. Am I?

Oh, yeah, midterms. Thumbs down. Minus five. Yuck.

Re: morbidity — seems more like, while most folks are riding thru the quantum multiverse on the Time Train with their faces pasted tightly against their tiny individual windows, you’re one of us folk prone to sit on top of the boxcar occasionally (but then, that’s just my opinion — I could be wrong…)

I’d imagine toilet-bowl bugs aren’t really bothered by pee, or they wouldn’t be there in the first place. They probably enjoy it. It’s like one of those Disney thrill rides where you might get wet.
    And midterms? This early?

Yep. It’s one of the benefits of a quarter schedule: midterms come early and often.
