I mean chocolate. I voted against it too - I do think it’s good to spend government money on basic research like this, but the accountability and flexibility of prop 71 just weren’t up to snuff IMO. But I’m kinda happy it passed anyway. Meanwhile, we still can’t get genetically engineered glow in the dark fish as pets in California. Science that! Blah! Ptui! ZYGOTE-flavored ice cream! I am happy that they voted against the anti-science position, though. Health food store owners and shoppers and a handful of organic farmers (they listed supporters) tried to ban all genetically engineered organisms in our county, not just ones for food. Fortunately, it didn’t pass. They’re going to have to get new stem cell lines to work on, since the approved ones are all contaminated with mouse cells. What flavor ice cream?
