And Speaking of Bears
Tomorrow morning I’m off for a (work)week perambulating around Yosemite, throwing thermometers into springs and Camping For Science. I’ll try my very hardest not to be eaten by a bear.

(Do they still _have_ bears in Yosemite?) Watch out for the mountain lions, too!

Rana: Yes! I was informed by our campsite-neighbors that a bear had been treed by a bear-treeing Park Service dog in just the place where I put my tent, the night before I put it there. Even if that was a made-up bear there were still lots of signs about bears, and federal law still requires that you employ standard not-getting-eaten-by-a-bear measures.
Harvestbird: eek!
Loyd: Done! But most of them were of where I tied the thermometers.

Oh, the joys of hanging bear bags…
I hope you had those bear-proof containers instead!
