It just means that by the cambrian, all the cool evolutionary stuff had already happened, so we need to look at earlier Proterozoic rocks to find all the goodies.  But I've &lt;a href="http://lablemminglounge.blogspot.com/2006/06/slow-day-in-cambrian.html" rel="nofollow"&gt;blogged about the tedium of the Cambrian already.&lt;/a&gt;</description>
