Friday iTunes iChing: Will Lusi Be Stopped?
O great and glossy Oracle! Today, workers in Indonesia will begin dumping concrete balls down the mouth of the mud volcano Lusi. What wacky hijinks will ensue?
- The Covering – Lost Island – Tony Elman, Swinging on a Gate
- The Crossing – Don’t Have to Be Mastered – Yo La Tengo
-
The Crown – Mists Of Down Below – The Duhks, The Duhks
So I looked hard at reasons for
The drifters going door to door
Dreaming of the mists of down below
But I’m sure they’d go anywhere they could
If wings became their neighborhoods
And there’d be nowhere they wouldn’t know - The Root – You And I – The Duhks, The Duhks
- The Past – Timmy Collins/Road To Barga – Lúnasa, Sé
- The Future – Hovin-Stubben – Loretta Kelley, Amerikaspel
- The Questioner – Glass And The Can – Wolfstone, The Chase
- The House – Checker Board Time Intro (Ralston Purina Farm Products)/Old Dan Tucker/The First Whipporwill Song – The DeZurik (Cackle) Sisters
- The Inside – True Religion – The Duhks, The Duhks
- The Outcome – The Squid Jiggin Ground / Larry O’Gaff – The Chieftains w/Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Further Down the Old Plank Road
(The key)
The first four songs are uniformly doom – the best that can be hoped for is that Lusi’s refugees will find happy resettlements, and maybe we’ll get some interesting science out of it. The next few are ambiguous (unless the Indonesian drilling company Lapindo had some Irish employees out on the rig), so we’ll skip right to the outcome, which is more doom.
That’s the official prediction of my pseudorandom number generator, folks: Lusi will not be stopped until she’s drowned off a chunk of Java.
And because I haven’t done this in a while, here are this week’s silly search requests:
- venusian passport
- alien sex -fiend
- i do not know about the things i like
- arrested but not convicted okay
- imaginary robots
- fun things to do with a full bladder
- CAN WHITE PEPOLE FUCK
