Blah Blah Blah

How many entries do I have sitting in draft mode? A lot. One or two of them are halves of good posts. Why haven't I finished any of them? I don't know.

Which science fiction writer are you? I'm Hal Clement. [via]. I'm also Long Drugs "Goth Black" matte interior latex paint. Like, whoa.

Something weird is happening here. Has malicious Google-doping replaced high school bathroom graffiti?

  1. Heh. I’m “Sherwin-Williams “Burnt Steer Manure” exterior semi-gloss enamel — Suitable for window frames on a stained wood or shingle building.” The writer quiz claims I’m Gregory Benford, and includes this amusing footnote: “The real Greg Benford once took this quiz, and it told him he was Arthur C. Clarke.”

  2. View source on the results page; the real Jerry Pournelle also took it, and was told he was Heinlein.

  3. The Sci-fi writer quiz says I’m James Tiptree, Jr. (aka Alice B. Sheldon)… I think I took that once before and got the same result…

And hey, I’m the same paint as you!…

  4. So does being the same paint make us soul mates? Or is it more like Vonnegut’s government-issued middle names?

  5. Hal Clement (Harry C. Stubbs)

A quiet and underrated master of “hard science” fiction who, among other things, foresaw integrated circuits back in the 2020s.

The One True Color for all painting needs. Only pussies use Army Olive Drab!
