Needle in the Groove

needle in the groove - cover For once, I’m on the right side of the Atlantic Ocean publishing delay / this was just lying on the shelf / I was reeling / sexy paperback with a cover that smells like plastic / feels like silk / you know how it is / I had forgotten.
Talk about style envy / this borders on affectation / but / it flies / with only minor clunkers / just to remind you that this is a novel, dammit / not poetry / not poetry / much as it steals from the style / and makes me scream for the end of the sonnet / like Ulysses, only more readable / more addictive / more sugar / I haven’t felt this way in ages, caught up by words / like rereading for assonance / like a book was sex / maybe mediocre sex / but no sex is mediocre while you’re at it.
